With the rapid development of national economy, the national road network and the people's living standard have been greatly improved. Thus motorcycles have gradually come into people's life and work. Meanwhile, more strict standards on the comfort and security of motorcycles are put forward. The ride comfort of motorcycle is always the one of the important properties explored and studied by the researchers and makers of motorcycle. In this paper, the features of a 250 cc motorcycle on its ride comfort have been explored thoroughly and the key factors influencing the comfortableness have been found out. The goal of improving motorcycle comfortableness so is achieved. The main contributions of the research are as the following: (1)A assessment method of motorcycle comfortableness was proposed which references to the method of automobile and other vehicles assessment; (2)A mathematic model of road surface's characteristic was studied, and the ISO B class road at a speed of 60 km/h is simulated with computer and the measurement of this method is given out; (3)A 2. degrees-of-freedom (DOF) vibration model on motorcycle part and a 5. DOF ride comfort model on motorcycle were modeled with contra posing machinery。The qualitative analysis on the 2.DOF back part vibration model was carried out; (4)The 5. DOF ride comfortableness model of motorcycle excited by inputs of random and step excitations were analyzed, and the discussion on the impact of motorcycle structure parameter to the result of calculation is carried out; The vibration comfortableness of the motorcycle is assessed with the worked out acceleration power spectrum density. Several methods to improve the vibration characteristic have been proposed by analyzing the parameter impact on the result of calculation of the structure. Finally, the studies of the research are concluded that the characteristics and the innovation of the work is introduced, the further work in the recent is pointed out.
