Wind power generating system is complicated for wind energy has the properties ofboth randomness and uncertainty. It is of theoretical importance and practical value forsmall scale wind power generating system to have simple structure, low cost, highreliability and optimal operating condition.A new architecture of small scale wind power generating system, which is composedof wind turbine with fixed pitch, permanent magnet synchronous generator, rectifyingbridge, boost chopper, battery and inverter, is suggested in this paper. Disturbance injectionmethod is proposed to achieve maximum power control. State averaging method is used tomodel the system, and static state characteristic as well as linearization model are obtained.The principle of choosing parameters of disturbance signal are given by analyzing itsfrequency response. Simulation study with MATLAB/SIMULINK is carried out by meansof investigating both control strategy of maximum power tracking and the influence ofparameters of disturbance signal on control performance. The result of simulation showsthat disturbance injection method of maximum power control for small scale wind powergenerating system is correct and practical.Result obtained in the paper lays the theoretical foundation for the application ofdisturbance injection method to maximum power track in small scale wind powergenerating system, and has the value of guidance in practical application.
