Steady-state voltage stability of power system is an important subject in modern bulk power networks. This dissertation is working for developing software using for steady-state voltage stability of power system and introduces its methods, structure, function and application to SiChuan power system.Firstly, the dissertation analyzes the necessity of research of voltage stability, the definition and classification of voltage stability, discusses mechanism of voltage collapse and security index of voltage stability, describes various controls for prevent voltage collapse and compares many methods in the field of research of voltage stability.Secondly, the dissertation advances a method which combines optimal multiplier power flow, continuation power flow and SVD (Singular Value Decomposition) to analyze steady-state voltage stability of power system. It not only can accurately compute changes when load increase in system, but also can gain stability margin and information about weakness on voltage stability, moreover it can require shorter time to accomplish.Thirdly, develop voltage stability analysis software, base on this method. To accelerate and enhance the degree in simulation, the software uses optimized node number technique and sparse matrix technique, considers limit of generation and the effect of the action of ULTC, SC and ShR to voltage stability and imports load module into the method. Then the dissertation introduces process, function and interface of software.Finally, using the software simulates various conditions to analyze the voltage stabilities of SiChuan power system which operates in peak load period of highwater and low water,, By computing and analyzing, we gain the stability margin, information about changes of system and the weakness of voltage stability in system from result.
