| The purpose of mechanical structures and mechanical components optimization design is to make designed structures who have lighter weight , smaller volume , more efficientness , lower cost , better reliability and so on.But mechanical structures are often complicated ,the results are not good using traditional experience formula method to optimize mechanical components. However,with the rapid development of computer and numerical value method,some engineer problems whatever are simple or complicated can be resolved by discretized numerical value method and computers. Finite Element Method ( FEM )is not only one important numerical value method,but also supplys a platform for structure analysis.As one way of structure optimizations for the topology optimization ,because this method is very important during primary period of products design,in recent years people pay more attention about the technology of topology optimization design. Hyperworks, the structure Finite Element Method software is supplied by American Altair Software Corporation.This software is not only easy to use,but also has very powerful functions,especially about meshing technology and optimization function.So,this software is very popular in home and abroad. This paper is a basic study about topology optimization design.Basing knowing about topology,structure topology optimization design , learning Hyperworks software , we study density method topology principle based on Finite Element Method in detail.In this paper,we initially use U-shape entity as geometry model of topology design according to the requirement of designing structure.After that,we make a shape optimization according to the result of topology design.At last , we obtain a perfect V-shaped thrust shank back bracket.In this paper,in order to show the reliability of topology technology ,we test the original and the new V-shaped thrust shank back bracket on the test platform. The conclusion and main content of this paper show as following: First,in this paper we tell the development history of structure topology optimization design based on reading many Chinese and English science papers;In this paper we study Hyperworks software,introducing main characters and basic analysis function.All make base for topology optimization design. Second,in this paper we introduce the development of topology,at the sime time,giving the definition of topology.Basing this ,we tell principle of several topology methods based Finite Element Method technology and understand the math model about density method.Tn this paper we also explain the effect that computing arithmetic imposes on topology optimization result.At last, we illustrate the concrete application of topology optimization technology at architecture progect,vehicle body,mechanical components.All these show that more and more people pay attention to topology technology. Third,in this paper we initially use U-shape entity as geometry model of topology design,using this model to make finite element model,studying the loads applied on FE model in detail,defining boundary conditions,defining optimization parameters.After that,the program computes and results one better back bracket for V-shape thrust shank.At the sime time we obtain five important conclusions.Through combining the topology optimization roughcast structure and manufacturing arts and crafts requirements,we have designed one new V-shaped thrust shank back bracket.we verify the bracket strength and make a shape optimization for it.At last,we obtain a perfect V-shaped thrust shank back bracket.In this paper,we compare the physical performance between the new and the original bracket.The analysis illustrates that structure topology optimization design based FEM can improve auto components performance and reduce their weights.The result is very obvious.
