Hardware And Software Design Of Upfc Based On DSP

The Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC) is one of the most enterprising realizations of the idea of Flexible AC Transmission System (FACTS). Having the ability of controlling most of the basic power system parameters, UPFC can flexibly adjust the real and reactive power through the transmission line, damp the oscillation, and enhance the stability of power system and so on. These characters make UPFC the most desirable control device in AC transmission system.In this paper, the development and actuality of UPFC is first presented, which include the control methodology and its influence on power system operation. After analyzing the basic principle, and then the control method is designed, that is the PWM control. Furthermore, a program flow chart and its implementation board are given based on TI's TMS320LF2407A DSP.With the circuit board and software, a tentative UPFC control device is build up, which makes good bases for the research of the physical model of UPFC. In addition, these researches give bases for further study on UPFC.
