| With the fast increment of population in Shaanxi Province, the development of agriculture and industry leads to severe shortage of water resource in this region. By the analysis of water consumption structure, it can be concluded that in many cities of Shaanxi, the water consumption structure is illogical, the Management Mechanism is faultiness and the action of wasting water is prevalent. Therefore, constructing water saving city is a significant ways to solve these problems in arid areas, especially in Shaanxi Province. In this article, the potential of water conservation is analyzed for many cities in Shaanxi Province and a water conservation scheme is advanced. With the recommended scheme, the water shortage could be conquered in mostly years and water supply will equal to demand. In Guanzhong and Shanbei, besides adjusting water rates structure, installing an approved water conservation device and installation of water meter, it is very essential to carry our wastewater reuse and Leakage Detection-and-repair of pipes. But in Shannan, water reuse is needless before 2010 and water reuse rate will still be lower than other regions of Shaanxi until 2020 or 2030. In conclusion, in addition to great economic benefit, the social problems such as river pollution, ecosystem repair will be improved obviously by popularizing this water conservation scheme. |
