| At the age of knowledge economy and drastic competition, responding to the market rapidly is the main factor to the victory of a corporation. For the traditional 3D CAD systems have the limit of depending on the knowledge and the experience of the designers and needing to consult amount of handbooks, which is trend to bring defaults. Therefore, merging the knowledge and experience into the CAD/CAM/CAE/CAPP system to realize the agent design is the preferential schema to respond rapidly for the corporation. In 1980's the experts introduced the notion of Knowledge Based Engineering (KBE) based on Expert System. By this way, the knowledge and experience can be merged into the CAD/CAM/CAE/CAPP System effectively.In the course of designing complex parts in common use, such as gear, exist some defects. The designers need to consult handbooks and create the same features repeatedly, which severely influence the work efficiency. To resolute these problems, introducing into the KBE, we researched and executed the parametric CAD system based on KBE, on the basic of Pro/E .The paper mainly studied the following contents:(1)Researched the basic contents in parametric design on KBE technique: the first, create models of the parts using of the KBE technique; the second, set up the relations between the models and knowledge in order to rapidly parametric drive the models.(2)Studied about the Orient Object Design method and applied it into creating models, setting up Knowledge Base, program design. Used advanced idea in guiding the research of the whole system.(3)Sat up the model base by the theory of parametric design based on feature. The knowledge and experience of design were merged into every model to realize the integrating of rules and criterions in design with the parametrically drive mechanism. We employed program to carry out the reasoning mechanism and succeeding of the knowledge.(4)Studied about the technique of data transfer through intranet or internet based on the Client/Server and the Web/Server. And studied the technique of managing knowledge base. The frame of the system was designed based on C/S.(5)Researched the key techniques of secondary development in Pro/E using Pro/Toolkit. On the basic of these key techniques, communication between Pro/E and the secondarily developed CAD system and the function of parametrically drive models were realized.(6)Based on above researches, we developed The Parametric CAD System Used In Mechanic Parts Based On KBE. In the case of sprocket wheel, I introduced the results of this system. |
