In this paper, the analytical method of load sharing characteristics of planetary gear transmission of helicopter's reducer has been studied, and the relevant calculation software has been developed with the MATLAB platform. First of all, the basic principle of static load sharing mechanism has been studied. All kinds of errors that influence load sharing characteristics of gear system have been given, mainly including manufacturing and assembly error of each gear component's axis and each bearing's axis, tooth thickness error. The formulas of equivalent mesh error have been derived. The load sharing coefficient has been computed. The influences of each error on the static load sharing coefficient have been discussed. The critical error has been found through computation. Secondly, the calculating model for dynamics of the planet gear transmission has been set up. Basic principle of dynamic load sharing mechanism has been studied. The dynamic load-sharing coefficient and dynamic load coefficient of the system have been computed. The dynamic character of the system has been studied, and the dynamics analysis and emulation of the gear system has been done. The influence of the mesh stiffness to the dynamic load sharing coefficient has been discussed. Finally, according to the theory in this article and the demand of engineering, the software system has been developed for load sharing analysis of planetary gear transmission.
