Currently with the popularization of the apartments management, How to manage the electric power reasonably becomes a very important topic to be studied.An advanced intelligent electric power management system is designed according to the actual circumstance of student's apartments and the electric power management systems that are used for the civilian establishment This system integrates the electric power measurement and management together. It is composed of three configurations, i.e. field module, base management module and upper management module. The core of field module is composed of special chip AD7755 that is used for electric power measurement and MCU P80C592 with inner A/D converters. This module contains the following functions: recording power data in different periods, dynamically identifying the malignant load and so on. The main component of base management module is PC, which can inspect the abnormal situations by the data from CAN bus and effectively forbid the students who use the malignant loads which may cause fire easily. Besides that, the base management module can make statistics and release the data through database about consumption of electric power in the apartments. The main part of upper configuration is composed of PC too, which can pick up the data resources from the base configuration at any time based on local area net or telephone wire, then carry out various statistics and analysis through database, thus the power consumption in the whole apartments and the data of harmonious wave about electric wire can be known clearly, at the same time the electric power balance of accounts etc can be completed. The design of the hardware and software in the field configuration, the methods of anti- interference, the communication protocol of CAN bus and the principle of malignant load identifying are elaborated in detail, and a discussion on upper-management module are also made in the thesis.The problems of identifying the malignant load, analyzing the electric parameters, inspecting the state of power consumption at real time are solved successfully in the thesis. In this way, the modern and automatic management about students' apartments is realized.
