The thesis detailedly explores the structure, main principles and characteristics of the dynamic photoelectric tracking system, discusses the operational theories and mathematical models of several common methods, and makes a comparison of their advantages and disadvantages. Based on the analysis of the performances of commonly used optical elements in tracking system, a tracking theme is designed associated with the project. Then the theory of optical paths to gain error signals in coarse and fine tracking states are studied while the target is captured. The relation of error signal with mechanical movies is given according to the analysis of light beam' s transmission specialty with geometric optics, which makes a theoretic reference to the control algorithm of servo control system. The influences of the manufacturing error of target mirror, the flutter of target axis on tracking signal are analyzed based on the reflection law of continual system with vector expression. The effective reflection area of the target mirror and the maxim offset of the optic axis are calculated. Based on it, the largest directional angle difference of the target axis and optic axis is determined.
