Some researchers recently have concerned the researching of vernacular architectureby means of communicationtheories. But the studies which refer to idiographic vernaculararchitecture are still not plentiful, so it does the key work of this article. TraditionalKorean dwellings in Zhixin are an important part of Chinese traditional system. It has theunique characteristic because of particular natural geographic condition, traditional cultureand local social condition. Research for Zhixin dwellings in Yanbian district by means ofcommunication theories can discover its course of construction and development. Through theresearch this article also tries to bring some revelation to traditionaldwellings'evolvement. Firstly, this article states the production of cross-research between communicationtheories and vernacular architecture. Then the article introduces the correlative history andculture background of Zhixin. From the viewpoint of cross-research and the realitycondition of Dongbei district dwelling's research , the article points out the significance ofusing Communication theory to research the development of Zhixin dwellings. Accordingto expatiationof relative concepts, some possible ways of research can be found and used.According to characteristic of Zhixin dwellings'communication, this article discusses therelations between Zhixin dwellings and communicationessential systematically in threeaspects: Zhixin dwellings and information, effect of medium to Zhixin dwellings anddisseminator and receivers'effect to Zhixindwellings. Finally the article integrate all kinds of essential and expound characteristic oftwo-way communication——which called emanative way and congregate way —— forZhixin dwelling's information. Nowadays the trend of social urbanization andinformation-based becomes important social problems to Zhixin. All these problems caninfluence the course of dwelling's development and evolvement. Under these trends, howto sufficiently comprehend and utilize two-way communication, and grasp gatekeeper andits mechanism becomes a vital problem for traditions'renascence. It will refer to thefeasibility of dwelling's development. The writer hope that through the research some IIavailable revelation can be find for vernacular architecture——not only for Zhixindwelling, but also the dwellings in different place or for different minority.
