Medium-voltage distribution network is an important part of electric power system and is at the same time one of the necessary infrastructures for modernization. In recent years, with the finish of the transformation of country electrified wire netting and city electrified wire netting, how to strengthen and perfect the management of distribution network with a view to enhance the quality of power supply has become a present significant task. As a very important part of DMS, the distribution GIS has come into being as a natural result. Although the distribution GIS was applied to power supply business in the early years, GIS is only used as a kind of map background tool in most of the distribution system based on GIS. With the improvement of the ability of topology management in developing platform space of GIS, and the application of modular GIS, the ability of topology analysis of distribution network based upon GIS can be strengthened and the choke point of integrating GIS with MIS and SCADA system can be readily solved. Therefore, how to maximize the GIS resources and apply them to the distribution network system has become a focus problem at present and also in the future. In accordance with the characteristics of distribution network and the resources provided by the developing platform of GIS, the present author advances the node model and where upon proposes a method of analysis often used in distribution network. The validity and practicability of the method ofanalyzing the distribution network based on GIS has been confirmed in its application to the geographical information system. This paper first makes an introduction of the formation of wiring diagram of distribution network. Combining the traditional distribution network model, the present author proposes the distribution network model based on GIS. This model defines the structure of data, taking the integration of GIS with NIS and SCADA system into full consideration. This paper also presents how to generate the geographical wiring diagram in correspondence with geographical position by making use of GIS system and GPS direction finder and introduces the way of orientation of different equipment in distribution network. On the grounds of the topological model based on GIS, this paper discusses the analysis of power cut and power supply respectively and introduces the way of dynamic coloring up by using the special diagram of GIS system and also discusses the analysis of tracking power source spots; the analysis of power supply radius of transformer substation; the analysis of the best urgent repair route and the analysis of the location of distribution network breakdown. As can be seen from the succeeding chapters of this paper, the analysis based on topology of GIS runs through the whole analysis of distribution network. The advantage of topology analysis by making use of the powerful platform space of GIS is self-evident. In the process of introducing the approach to the analysis of distribution network, different arithmetic methods are employed in accordance with different functions. Considering the practicability, this paper uses such mature and simple arithmetic methods as the priority of range searchuthe priority of depth search and Di jkstra. Besides, ES method is adopted in the chapter of the analysis of the location of distribution network breakdown. On the basis of the location of breakdown, the approach to the reconstruction of breakdown network is discussed. This paper tries to seek the optimal way to realize thereconstruction of this network by using multi-objective function and the theory of fuzzy mathematics. At the end of this paper, the application of the method of analysis of distribution network based on GIS to practical electric geographical information system is introduced. The feedback of the customers and the effect of practical usage further confirms the validity and practicability of this method. Finally, this paper sets forth the vista of the application of this method to electric system.
