The development state of present reactive compensation from native and foreign land and the advantages and disadvantages are introduced at first. And it is pointed that the reactive compensation could be developed based on the magnetically controlled saturated reactor.From the study of the magnetically controlled saturated reactor's electromagnetism, its model is set up. From this model, the volt-ampere characteristic and performance characteristic are studied. The result show that the magnetically controlled saturated reactor's characteristics are controlled by the angle of thyristor. From changing the angle, the characteristics are changed. From the comparison of the artificial experiment result and the practical experiment, shows that they are just similar. The result shows that the magnetically controlled saturated reactor are very useful on the reactive compensation.To the unbalanced load current comparison, the method to Δ-connection is studied fully. A new method to Y-connection is introduced in this paper which could be used not only on Δ-connection, but also on Y-connection. The taken way is that some basic connections are studied. And which results are superpositted to get the final result. The A-connection are studied in this method looked on as a special form. The result is exactly equality to the exist method.The improvement of the new method is studied according to practical station which is only capacitances are used. When power factors are low, the unbalanced load current could be fully compensated based on the improved method. When power factors are upper, the unbalanced load current could be minished greatlyAt last, several typical unbalanced loads are studied to verify the method. And it is proved that the method introduced in this paper have a broadly value on the practical application.
