High precision servo turntable is a complicated precise electro-mechanic measuring device which plays a key role in guaranteeing the accuracy of the ground test of inertial navigation system. Therefore it is quite important to develop the fault diagnosis technology to keep the high precision servo turntable work stably. This paper mainly focuses on the advanced fault diagnosis technology of high precision servo turntable's control system from circuit board fault and system fault. First, a special instrument to test the analog-control board, single-chip board and angle-measure board in the high precision servo turntable system is designed. The fault diagnosis models basing on the principle of these boards are built and the software and hardware criterion of the test device is also designed. Secondly, the analogy-control board and single-chip board are improved with Build-in-Test technology. In detail, a F020 is added into the analogy-control board to send power, sample the response, analyze and offer fault indication. Using the self test identity of single-chip, a few fault indications and test switch assistant circuits are added to the single-chip board. Finally, the paper adopts the strategy of fault classification based on rough set reduction in the system fault diagnosis, analyzes the frequent faults in the system and builds the fault decision table. The redundancy massage can be predigestd with rough set. Consequently, a greatly more compact table can be got.
