To meet the needs of Integrated Navigation Computer's micromation and high performance so as to enlarge its application field, the Ingrated Navigation System design based DSP and FPGA is researched in this paper. Firstly, this paper brings forward Integrated Navigation Computer scheme based DSP and FPGA according to its characteristics and application requirement. In this scheme, DSP is used to be a processor. And the I/O interface function is realized by FPGA that performs the IMU signal acquisition and buffering data, expanding multi UART, keypad interface and LCD interface. DSP interfaces to FPGA by DSP's EMIF. Secondly, the detailed designs including FIFO, ADC sampling controller and UART, keypad and LCD interface are emphasized. Each interface is verified by timing simulation. And its driving program based DSP is given. Finally this paper introduces the SOPC design based FPGA embedded PowerPC405 in order to minimize the computer further, and the SOPC hardware design diagram is given. All the hardware circuits in this paper are described by VHDL and are designed by up-down, hierarchical and blocking method. The effeiciency and speed of the system is enhanced by the scheme in which high speed and float DSP is a processor and FPGA realizes interface unit so that DSP can be devoted in navigation algorithm. The module described by VHDL can be as IP core which has the advantages of reuse, modified and upgraded conviently. The IP core also can be used in SOPC design. Otherwise, the multi-UART expansion is simplified in hardware. High speed ADC sampling controller with FIFO is very fast. Hardware realized by FPGA is convient and can be easily upgraded because VHDL design can be resued and FPGA is programmable. Navigation Computer based DSP and FPGA has the characteristics of small dimension, high precision, low cost and power because of all the previous advantages of DSP and FPGA.
