A family of AC/DC converter with power factor correction, uninterruptible power supply , and fast regulation of the output is proposed and studied based on AC/DC converter with uninterruptible power supply. Principle of DCM flyback converter with power factor correction, technique of single-stage parallel mode power-factor -correction and lead-acid battery charge are analyzed and studied. The steady principle of these AC/DC converters and the design criterions of key circuit parameter are analyzed in detail. The prototype of 120W 220V±20%50HzAC/48V DC for single-stage parallel mode AC/DC converter with uninterruptible power supply and high power factor is designed and manufactured. The test results are given and corresponding to the theoretical analysis. The test results demonstrate that the converter has some advantages, such as simple topology, high power density, high conversion efficiency, high power factor, uninterruptible power supply and low cost. Such converter find extensive use in uninterruptible power supply application in telecom, computer industry and so on.
