Collaborative manufacturing execution systems (c-MES), a brand new concept deriving frommanufacturing execution systems (MES), has combined earlier generation MES functionality tooperate and improve plant operations, and to add better ability to integrate with other systems andpeople in the enterprise and value chain/stream. With the development of information andnetwork technology, the process of global manufacturing activity has greater speed then before, and enterprise is facing a revolution by c-MES. This paper has discussed and analyzed sufficiently the concept of c-MES, which is rarelymentioned in China, on the basis of many domestic and foreign references, and then concentrateon key technologies that have remarkable advantages comparing to traditional MES. Firstly, a remote monitor and control system based on B/S structure has been built on .netplatform. The system is composed of equipment level, monitor level and information level. Next, by means of integer programming of operational research and heuristic algorithm, theproblem of Job-Shop collaborative schedule on the condition of short delivery date is solved, reducing the cost of network manufacturing while delivering the good on schedule. Then, the information's track of outsourcing and operational vitrification, which coordinatesthe process of production smoothly, are implemented by using .net Remoting technology. In conclusion, c-MES has proved its ability of providing better control practices overoperations, being far more effective in sharing information with other systems, and making bettervisibility into core value-adding processes for entire manufacturing enterprises and supply chains.
