| Traditional planning of mountainous scenic resort has the problem of much more decision-making of the specialists and lacking of enough scientific technology in a degree. With the development of national economy, the development of mountainous scenic resort is faster and faster. How to resolve the problem above is primary for the planner.GIS has the capability of spatial analysis and data management, which can be utilized in each aspect of mountainous scenic resort planning. We try to analyze the spatial structure of mountainous scenic resort with GIS, such as slope analysis, aspect analysis, hillshade analysis, viewshed analysis, etc. In this way, we propose our principle and method in landuse type, boundary confirming, and touring route.At last, as GIS's utilization in mountainous scenic resort planning is being the exploring phases, we propose the potential problem of GIS utilization. However, we believe , the utilization of GIS in mountainous scenic resort planning can be more and more reasonable with GIS and correlative technology's development.
