In recent years, our economy keeps on high speed growth, people's income steady exaltation. After China joining in WTO, the car is walking into the family of the common run of people gradually. Facing the family car such development foreground of the amplitude and the pressure of the international automobile market, raising our country car design level and the ability of independences to develop have become the urgent matter of the moment. Moreover, because of the automobile aerodynamic and automobile energy, safety and exhaust have closely related, and have direct influence on them. Facing this kind of situation, this text does some researches both in the car design and in the car outer flow numerical simulation. Expecting can set up the good foundation in the fast development of car design.First, this thesis discusses from the concept, classification, method of the carriage shape design and the direction that carriage will develop in the future and narrates the differences of the method of modern carriages design and the method of the tradition. In the text still introduce the CAD technique development of the already widespread usage in modern automobile design particularly, and how to choose the fit software of CAD in the process of design. Then, the thesis aims at to discuss the steps and methods of the car design with the CAD software UG, and tally up some basic principle, and complete the entity shapes of the car in the end.Second, along with the progress of computer technical and the thorough development and applications of the overflow theories, computational fluid dynamics known as a newly arisen course is replacing the experiment of wind tunnel gradually in automobile flow analysis, becoming important means that studies the automobile aerodynamic problem. This is my first involve to the computational fluid dynamic, I discuss the development of the computational fluid dynamic and application of the computational fluid dynamic etc. and mainly discuss the special important step in computational fluid dynamic - the method of mesh generation and how to choose the computed method. And I analyses the computed results carefully.Thesis narrate carefully how to generate the hexahedron non- structure mesh on the auto model with ANSYS ICEM- CFD, and finish the numerical simulation of car outer flow in the computational fluid dynamics software STAR- CD ,getting with the calculation result agree with the actual circumstance very much. The end gets the conclusion of an affirmation, the numerical simulation of the automobile aerodynamic characteristic can lend support to the automobile designer, after designing the first step to complete, then analyses its flow fieldcharacteristic, put forward improving the opinion to the design, fight for attain the perfect combine of the esthetics and the aerodynamic.
