In this thesis, the theory and realization of direction for underwater moving target are studied.The background, usefulness and present state of the research work are presented respectively. Then array design and time delay estimation(TDE) algorithm are researched. In this paper, two arrays of interest are studied: four-element cross array and five-element tridimensional array. The direction theories of the two arrays are derived, and their direction accuracy is analyzed. Time delay estimation algorithms are investigated in details. Based on the deep research of time delay estimation algorithm, a new spectrum data TDE algorithm based on cooperant signal is put forward. The simulation results show the new algorithms have better performance.According to the direction theory, the hardware structure and software design are discussed in this paper, which uses TMS320C5409 DSP as signal processing module to face need of operation speed and accuracy. Every module design is introduced, especially several keyword technology inside. In the end, the whole system debug in the laboratory is introduced, and the simulation results on real data show the new algorithm is reliable.This work is one of important testing equipment for the deep bomb research and experiment on lake. The system can measure the deep bomb's underwater moving curve, and know about its working condition, which is easy to constantly improve on its design.
