Research Of Collaborative Design System Based On ASP

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) play irreplaceable roles during the economy development in China. They need many supports of collaborative design technologies to improve their product design capabilities. On the one hand, SMEs have not enough purchasing power abilities; On the other hand, collaborative design system is characterized by higher development cost, longer cycle, more maintenance charges, which makes it impossible for collaborative technologies to apply well into SMEs. ASP mode provides a new solution to solve the above problems. Collaborative design system based on ASP mode is that collaborative design technologies are combined with ASP mode, then products are collaboratively designed among businesses on ASP service platforms. Under the background of Project supported by the 863 Program of China-ASP platform development for the reform of Northeastern Old Industrial Base, collaborative design system based on ASP mode is studied. The main contents are as fellows:( i) Theories on CSCW and ASP mode are studied. Through knowing about the research situation of ASP and CSCW, operation mechanisms, architecture and operation conditions of ASP mode are analyzed. Functional model, architecture of collaborative design system based on ASP mode are presented according to functional requirements of collaborative design system, and the functional and structural characteristics are summarized.(ii) Design process model of collaborative design system based on ASP is built. The system supported technologies are introduced as well as their essential functions.(iii) Collaborative design system based on ASP is composed of information sharing sub-system, collaborative design sub-system and collaborative management sub-system. The functional modules including authority management, aided design, standardized part library management and communication tool are analyzed and designed.(iv) Based on the above researches, collaborative design system prototype based on ASP is developed.Finally, a case of electro-thermal flask collaborative design system prototype is studied in an enterprise. The result shows that the system prototype can effectively manage the product collaborative design process. Thus the working efficiencies of designers and product competition abilities are improved greatly.
