The Research On The Exterior Space Design For University Science And Technology Park

University Science and Technology Park, originally a concept used in economics, could not be discussed without considering its economic characteristic and its influence on social development when it was involved into architectural field. The paper started with the introduction of the background and current condition of Chinese University Science and Technology Park, subsequently expatiated the essentiality of the study on exterior space from the viewpoint of urban development with full-scale.The design for University Science and Technology Park aimed at the harmonious coexistence established between human and nature as well as among all human beings. In respect to some existent designing problems in Chinese University Science and Technology Park this paper tried to search certain answer to them from many aspects, such as administrative management, designing opinion, designing methods, human's behavioral and mental modes and so on. For the sake of acquiring more thorough and more pertinence results the main content was divided into three sections-road, square and greenbelt-that were dissertated one by one.The road of University Science and Technology Park offered exterior space a general framework including the connection to the city and its own system. Due to its dual characteristics of industry society and information society the road of University Science and Technology Park should be designed under the guidance of thinking over its usage, system and landscape simultaneous. Square suggested some certain social attributes in human and may be embodied from the site choosing, size controlling and modality designing. As a result, human' s demand for communication and its features would be the main basis in designing the square. The "Park" of University Science and Technology Park implied human's aspiration after natural environment, while the construction of it could not calculate itself separately. Designers of greenbelts should enhance their continuity, accessibility and break the confine between them of all types so that more urban citizens could enjoy more greenbelts.In the exterior space design for University Science and Technology Park the three sections above used to be integrated and might be emphasized as certain elements under certain circumstances. However, the exterior space should eventually serve for people's life whether the main purpose was people's activities or environment protection. Therefore, insisting on human's ultimate solicitude and applying it to the whole designing process from planning to individual exterior spaces and finally to details should become the start point and the final goal of design.
