Research Of Succession And Innovation In Modern Landscape Architecture Design

Landscape architecture is a special architecture type abundant in cultural contents. Chinese traditional landscape architecture has made very high achievement in the aspects of single design, community combination and dealing with the environment. The type and scale of modern landscape architecture increase gradually,and people's esthetic senses change as well. These changes give the new connotation to the landscape architecture. Modern landscape architecture should not only come from tradition, but also exceed tradition. It should be associated with contemporary society and culture. In modern landscape architecture design, it is of great importance to succeed to the reasonable principle and artistic skill, and take on the characteristic of the ages. The thesis analyses the related factors that affect the form of modern landscape architecture, then tries to induce the means of design.The thesis is composed of three chapters. The first chapter reviews the general situation of the traditional landscape architecture, including the thought of design,artistic conception and feature of traditional landscape architecture. The second chapter describes the design principle, the related theory and the thought of sustainable development in modern landscape architecture. Modern landscape architecture design is affected by the environment, culture, material and technique etc. The third chapter discusses how modern landscape architecture gives expression to these factors. The thesis expounds the way of succession and innovation from three angles, such as succession to traditional form, exploration of the local style and new expression in high technique.
