In the recent decades, with the development of the communications industry of our country, many curved bridges have been built in order to meet the demand of alignment or function, among which some are large-scale interchanges as the hub of transportation, and some are artery bridges fit for the alignment. The expanding construction of curved bridges demonstrates that the study, design and construction of bridges in our country have been raised to a higher level. However, a lot of issues such as the cracking of interchanges, the large lateral displacement etc. emerge one by one in recent years. Some issues have exerted a negative and severe impact on the normal operation, which proves that there are still some problems remaining unsolved in curved bridges. This thesis approaches these issues from the perspective of design. The author puts forward his own proposals and viewpoints by means of looking back on the previous design process and drawing on the current theories and technologies. The outline of this thesis is presented as follows:1. First of all, the retrospect of the bridge-designing and calculating theories in our country and feasibility of doing calculation through the use of box girder theory.2. The method of geometry-eccentricity is assessment, the relation between the geometry-eccentricity and the calculating eccentricity are obtained.3. The effect of curvature radius on the internal forces of curve bridges; the calculated result can be done by reference to the corresponding internal forces of straight beam under any conditions.4. The effect of curvature radius on the displacement of curved bridges; the calculated result can be done by reference to the corresponding displacement of straight beam under any conditions.5. The effect of curvature radius on the natural vibration features of curved beam structure.6. The effect of uniform temperature on the internal forces and displacement of curved girder bridges.7. The effect of non-uniform temperature on the internal forces and displacement of curved girder bridges.
