The Study Of Oil-impregnated Porous Polyimide Retainers Used For Gyroscope Bearing

Most of gyroscope bearings are precious angular contact ball bearings,The precision and life of gyroscope is dependant on the performance of bearing .Because of the special working condition and requests, Gyroscope bearing has oil-impregnatd micro porous retainer which establish lifetime oil lubrication with the impregnated oil . Micro porous polyimide retainers have been wildly used in space bearings for its advertanges .The mechnical properties ,size stability , wearability and micro porous characteristics of material have effect on the use oil-impregnated cages .The characteristics of lubricant and assemblage also should be considered .The characteristics of porous polyimide can be changed by varying the contents of material and processing paraments . For the given working condition such as speed and temperature , the bearings can establish and maintain certain lubrication layer with the oil-impregnated porous retainers which absorb and release oil .This equilibration is the base of gyroscope bearing lubrication . The equilibration is affected by the characteristics of cage which can be controlled .
