In the paper, based on the theories of singlechip system control and intelligent instrument application, a kind of new traction electromotor armature parameter auto-detection instrument is developed. This instrument can accept the AC voltage resistance, DC high voltage leakage current and coil insulate, and also can mensurate direct current resistance of armature coil.Firstly, the objective, principle, method and standard of mensurate results of the above measurement have been confirmed in the paper, furthermore, a feasible design project is put forward. The step motor and electromagnet are controlled through the singlechip so as to test and mensurate armature. The tested results are shown, stored compared with each other by RS232 and special testing instrument, finally printed.Secondly, the paper has introduced and analyzed every key components of the system. The machine in this system is one of the important parts, which comprises V-shape clamp, screw gearing and stylet lifter. In this part, the force model and the design of important accessories are mainly introduced. The hardware design of singlechip system includes interface circuit of step motor, control circuit of electromagnet, interface circuit of printer and anti-jamming of the hardware system, however, the software design of the system is composed of main flow of the system, program of the main function module and anti-jamming of the software system.The research findings are shown as follows:1. The development of traction electromotor armature parameter auto-detection instrument has been accomplished, of which, including the machine, hardware design of singlechip system and software of the system.2. So far, Installation and acceptance of the instrument have been completed. The development of the instrument ends the history of manual detection and makes contribution to the automatization of detection in locomotive depot.Finally, the research conclusion and expectation are given.
