Introduces the development of domestic and foreign high-speed railway and the way in which domestic high speed railway is developed. Gives the design ideas that new material and improved structure should be used in order to lighten the weight of car body. Gives the structure of high-speed stainless steel train after making references to domestic and Japanese high-speed stainless steel train.In order to test the reliability of the structure analyzes the structure of car body. Analyzes and calculates the stress and distortion for the structure of car body under vertical load case, lengthwise stretch load case, lengthwise compression load case, air pressure power load case, operating load case in detail. The result shows that the distortion of car body is harmonious and the stress is distributed reasonably. The intensity and stiffness under every load case can meet the requirement. The box structure can pass the compression and stretch load to side beam and from side beam to the middle of the car body very well. So the structure can improve the stiffness and rigidity.Employing Optimization part of I-DEAS software optimizes the project of the structure of car body. The weight of steel structure of car body is the goal function; The side wallboard, top board, top longitudinal beam and side wall longitudinal beam which the mass of the car body is sensitive to are the design variable; The stress and displacement are restraint variables. The optimum result shows the mass of car body is reduced and at the same time the stiffness and intensity can meet the requirement.The weight of steel structure for original 200km/h high speed passenger car body is 16.8t after it is optimized. Otherwise, the weight of steel structure for the passenger car body the paper design is 7.68t after it is optimized. The weight of car body is reduced 9.12t. So the paper is very useful in theory for the study of high speed stainless steel car body.
