Comparative Studies On The Urban Landscapes Of Green Space Among The Typical Cities In Hubei Province

Urban green space, the main natural productivity in the city, plays an important role on improving the urban ecological environmental quality, regulating urban climate, beautifying cityscape, raising human settlements living standard and creating an ecological and pleasant city etc. Urban green space , with the special contribution to the constructure, founction and changes of urban landscapes, is the natural element in cityscapes, the ecological foundation of sustainable development of society and economy and one of the important infrastructures in urban construction. The different cities have different urban landscapes of green space while different urban landscapes of green space reflect different images and characteristics of cities.On the bases of the urban green space system planning maps, texts and data of the three representative cities, the waterfront (river) city --Yichang, the mountainous city -Shiyan, the plain lake city -Xiantao, in Hubei province, added with the investigation on the cities' green space systems, the author took advantage of the principles and methods of landscape ecology, landscape architecture, urban planning to study the landscape patterns and their affected factors in the selected cities. With the comparative studies on the three cities' green spaces, the author brought forward the developing and the layout modes of the three cities' green space and discussed the possibilities to use these modes in the similar cities in China. The thesis is composed of following five chapters:Chapter one: as the introduction part of the thesis, firstly presenting the background and the relevant concepts on urban landscapes of green space, reviewing the development and the research about urban green space system planning and urban landscape of green space. Secondly, the purpose, the significance, the main contents and the objects of this thesis and the research approach and process was presented.Chapter two: describing the basic survey of studied cities and the current situation of the cities' urban landscapes of green spaces.Chapter three: founding the classification system and evaluation index system of the urban landscapes green space, analyzing and comparative studying the landscape pattern of the cities' urban green space synthetically.Chapter four: with the factors influencing the urban green space, comparing with the three cities' urban landscapes of green space, analyzing and discussing the different characteristics among the three cities.Chapter five: the developing and planning modes of the three cities' urban landscapes of green space were presented separately, and the ones of the three typical cities' were also presented.
