The following are the mainly aspects taken into consideration during the design of the circuit breaker: design of air current filed to satisfy the breaking characteristic; distribution of the electric field to guarantee the insulation requirement; mechanical characteristic to comply with the operating time of the equipments, and so on, during which design of the air current field is fundamental to the design of arc control device. The internal structure of the arc control device could be determined approximately as the finish of the design of the air current field. Then adjusting the match of the various components and compartments in the arc control device to make the distribution of the internal electric field be as even as possible to satisfy the requirements of insulation test. This article applies finite element to analyze the insulation design of the arc control device of 126KV self-energizing SF6 circuit breaker in testing and gains the main factors influencing the distribution of the electric field of arc control device and brings forward the methods to improve the distribution of electric field. This article makes qualitative analysis to the components of the arc control device and the characteristic parameters and advances a kind of design and estimation method of the self-energizing arc control device combining with the experience of design arc control device mathematical simulated account and breaking test of the arc control device of ago breaker as well as working out the accounting result of the practical situation of this product and introducing the selection of the parameters of the key components for the self-energizing arc control. Opening characteristic dynamic simulated accounting procedure is also programmed with abundant high-volt electric theory and years of the practical experience.
