The treatment of soft soil becomes popular in coastal engineering due to reclamation usage of dredge sediment from port basins, lakes, navigation channels, ponds, and lagoons. There are a lot of methods have been tried for these projects. Besides, new methods are still an interesting and attractive topic for researchers in this filed. As the geological conditions have big effects on the choice of treatment methods, this paper aims to find out the suitable method on particular geological condition in Qinwan.According to the author's knowledge, the treatment techniques have been used for stacking area in Qingdao Qianwan Port including DCM (dynamic compaction method), stacking preloading method, sand wick method, vacuum preloading method etc. Based on the analyses of plentiful treatment practice data in this area and using Satty's AHP(Analytical Hierarchy Process) theory, a model concerning treatment methods choice has been established. The data include the soft soil mechanics parameters such as void ratio, internal friction angel, water content, compression modulus, cohesion and density.A comparison is made for the optimized treatment method from the above model with the actual measured results in Qianwan area. A conclusion is obtained that this model work well for specific geological condition in Qianwan area and the suggested treatment methods for this area are in sequence DCM (drainage consolidation method), DC (dynamic compaction), SFM (shotcrete fasten method), MM (metathesis method ) .
