According to the analysis on the general course of salvage, the structure and main functions of the salvage assistant system are constructed. The data required by this system is catalogued, the relations between data are indicated, and the data source is selected. The tide and tidal currents in Bohai Sea, Huanghai Sea and East China Sea are numerically simulated by using POM with 8 principle tidal components (Q1, O1, P1, K1, N2, M2, S2 and K.2), the results of this simulation are satisfied. The surface tidal currents harmonic constants of the 8 principle tidal components are extracted from the results of the numerical simulation by harmonic analysis method, so the prediction model of surface tidal currents is constructed and used. To forecast the trajectory of the floater on sea, the forces which affect the motion of floater are discussed; the currents and the wind are the main forces which drive the floater to motion. The shape and volume of the part above sea of floater are the main parameters for calculating the force produced by wind on the floater. The seawater and waves can resist the motion of floater. The resistance of seawater can be calculated by introducing shape and volume of the part in seawater of floater. By using the tidal currents prediction model and the results of ECCO ocean current model, the software is made which can be used for forecasting the trajectory of floater on sea.
