This text introduces the developing trend of engine and the technology thereof home and abroad as well as the Dongfeng Chaoyang Diesel Co., Ltd the present products manufacturing situation, thus illustrating the importance of developing CY 4112 diesel engine and improving the manufacturing technology.According to the concrete situation of the CY4112 cylinder block and the company's production program requirements, this text in more detailed way introduces the designing principle and process route for CY4112 diesel engine cylinder block machining process plan, in the course of designing research for the process plan, the process operation from rough milling the cylinder block top, bottom and two sides, then finish milling the bottom face, rough boring cylinder bores, main bearing half round and finally locate the parts on the CNC machines for semi- machining and finish machining. Compared with the traditional plan analysis, it shows that this plan is the most advanced and reasonable in the plans selected. While selecting the machines, in view of improving the diesel engine manufacturing technology, providing the condition for the future flexible production line combination, this text illustrates that the flexible manufacturing technology should be adopted in the block critical manufacturing process, which effectively guarantees the product designing requirement and reduces the investment. The application of CY4112 diesel engine cylinder block machining line settles low accuracy issues of machining in the critical process such as crank bore and cylinder bore, which existing long time ever in the production and basically eliminates the technical issues of the crankbore dislocation while reassembly, improves the machining accuracy for cylinder block, thus enhancing the diesel engine quality, strengthening the competitiveness of our company's diesel engines in the market. This text is done on the basis of the authors own experience from the process design, machine model selection, to process test and fulfillment, which is a combination of theory and practice.
