As a new high-tech material, Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic not only has high tensile strenghth, but also, has excellent anti-corroding and anti-aging character. The use of CFRP for construction applications has been more and more universal in recent years, and CFRP is regarded as one of the most economical and prospective materials. The rehabitation technology of using CFRP is rapidly increasing in the construction field. But the researches of CFRP on steel penstocks of hydroelectric stations that beaer pressure have nothing by nowAccording to the experiment of steel penstocks of hydroelectric station reinforced by CFRP,this paper gives plenty of numerical results and analyzes the theoretical and experimental curves .The finite element model and calculation method for steel penstocks of hydroelectric stations are presented.The whole paper includes five chapters. In the first chapter, a brief review of technique of reinforced and introduction of fiber, the use of FRP and the characteristic of CFRP in repair are introduced. In the second chapter, the making of specimen and corresponding experiment devices and operating procedure are introduced. In the third chapter, the results of the experiment are presented, at the mean time, a series of experimental curves are displayed and the changing regulations are explained. In the fourth chapter, through the calculation of using finite element method in Ansys model, the theoretical curves are born and compared with the experimental curves. The fifth chapter draws a conclusion from the study of this experiment and gives four advices, which are thought to help the similar forthcoming research work.
