Abstract/Summary:
Based on extensive survey, this paper analyzes the current actuality and problems of electric automation in thermal plant. By combining the requirement of electric automation on the spot and using advanced network technology and test and control technology, the layer distributing electric automation system based on network of thermal plant has been researched and developed. This system integrates the protection, test, control, communication and management functions as a whole. It can accomplish the functions of real time information monitoring, protection information management, history information management, fault record, electric energy management, auxiliary power supply and GPS timing of generator and transformer, auxiliary power, DC system, excitation in thermal plant. It also can supply sufficient resources for operation management and fault analysis of electric system. The data sharing had realized by communicating with DCS system and dispatching through communication interface, which not only can reduce a great deal of cable wiring but also can improve the automation level of electric system in thermal plant. This system had been used successfully in the technology reform program in Xuchang thermal plant.
