People have to construct buildings on soft soil. Controlling settlement anddifferential settlement is the key of building on soft soil. Because piled raft foundationhas the good ability of carrying load and reducing settlement, it can be applied on softsoil. However, due to the complexity of part accurate calculation methods which isoften used to calculate the settlement of piled raft foundation, more requiredparameters, much more cost and time for calculation, and the fact that some requiredparameters are based on estimation which could not ensure the accuracy of the results,the promotion and the application of piled raft foundationis restricted. In this article, explicit finite difference program FLAC 3D is used. Analyzedifferential settlement, average settlement, raft moment and load distribution and soon with different soil elastic modulus, pile length, pile space and raft thickness and getsome useful conclusion. Based on solid pier, for the aim of application, modify thethickness of compressed layer, consider the influence of pile length and space. Thismethod is simple and applied and can be used in design. The result is coincident withnumerical result and actual engineering. In this article, differential settlement iscontrolled by changing pile arrangement and pile length and pile diameter. Thesuitable control method is advanced.
