Piled raft foundations are ordinarily adopted for the tall building and heavy structure because it possesses large capacity and well performance of reducing settlements and balancing differential settlements.How to reduce differential settlements are the most abstruse and focal problems in design.To achieve to the design objects,its crucial to know the piled raft foundations how to wok.In this paper;I set up 2-dimensions finite element model of piled raft foundations by professional software.The results of caculating many engneering projects show the change of settlement,intemal force and counterforce on pile when parameters are variational.This paper discusses the effects of internal force and the settlement of plate on ground and counterforce on pile of main towers and podiums with settlement joints between them.The method is used in the optimum design of Jiahe Hotel in Ningbo.Four cases are' discussed and compared ,the best one is chosen because it is economical and safe.
