Coal blending is important in clean coal technology from saving energy resources and protecting environment. It discusses the present research condition of steam coal blending and the direction and technology of steam coal blending. Existing systems for steam coal blending are base on qualities of design coal. It is the first time to optimize steam coal blending based on coal quality engineering analysis. The thesis analyze the steam blending coal quality influence upon boiler and power plant. The linear and nonlinear mathematical models for steam coal blending were established. According to the coal rank, blending rate, combustibility and slagging ability, the optimization process flow sheet of steam coal blending are introduced briefly. Total coal quality engineering analysis system is set up. Based on coal quality engineering analysis, the software of optimization steam coal blending is developed. It is for the least total cost of the current plant . The success application for No.2 power plant of xilinhaotie is a good example.
