Controlled blasting is an engineering technology developed to recover the damaged cities quickly after the Second World War. And it is now widely used in cities' reconstructions and industries' technical reforms all over the world.The usage of controlled blasting could be able to enhance productivity greatly and speed up the project schedule. But as the scale of blasting engineering is bigger and bigger, and the frame structure of building more and more complex, the blasting accidents, such as non-dilapidation, inaccurate direction and people injury by flying objects are often happened in building demolition blasting in recent years all over the world, which indicates that the safety of demolition blasting must be researched in real earnest.The current situation of building demolition blasting is investigated in this paper firstly, and the safety-fault theory is imported to analyze and evaluate the safety of demolition blasting. The probable factors causing the accidents of building demolition blasting are identified by hazard pre-analysis technique according to accidents statistics and Fault-Cause theory. The Event Tree and cause-effect graph of building blasting accidents are founded to state clearly the potential causes initiating the accidents and its correlations, and to display the accident's moving developing procedure.The principle and method of Fault Tree Analysis and its applications in fault analysis are mainly discussed by taking "non-dilapidation of building demolition blasting" as an example. And the "non-dilapidation of building demolition blasting" fault tree and its hierarchy structure mode are made. At last, a prediction mode and effective measures for the safety in building demolition blasting are given, which will be able to supply references to the accident prediction and the safety evaluation of demolition blasting engineering.
