The management of the distribution equipment maintenance are an important part of the distribution automation system. The management system plays an important role in enhancing the management level, automation level and supplying level of power bureau.This paper emphasizes particularly on studying the management system of the distribution equipment maintenance. It summarizes data stream of defection management after analyzing the management process of equipment defection in power bureau. It sets up the ER model of maintenance system, designs database structure according to normal format request based on data stream. It presents an optimal arrangement model by quantizing complication of the maintenance problem, and computes the model by use of genetic algorithm. And it realizes genetic operation within space of feasible solution by Grefenstette decoding method. The module for computing hot-point and insulated life is also programmed in this paper. At last, this paper develops the software of the distribution equipment management and defection maintenance for XiFeng substation of the northern power bureau in GuiYang.
