A new kind of energy saving permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) and its control system are designed in this paper. Based on the electro-magnetic calculation, the control system is analyzed with MATLAB/SIMULINK under the circumstances of both PID controller and neural network controller. The results show that the PMSM is characterized by high power factor and efficiency, especially when being loaded slightly. The control system composed of PMSM is well started and interim. It can also be concluded from the simulation results that neural network controller system are rougher than PID controller to meet the needs of the system when being stirred.
