Combustion system of Power plant boiler is taken as the research object of this thesis. The research mainly focuses on the faults of boiler combustion system, such as flame center deflection, powder feed inequality or break, primary air pipe jammed, spontaneous combustion, and backfire or kill in burner spout. The character of boiler combustion system and the causes of the faults are analyzed in detail. Character signals which shows the status of boiler is extracted and the rule base for fault diagnosis is established. At the same time, the visualization of flowing state and possible accident is developed by combining Multimedia technology with program control of 3DSMAX data model in OpenGL. On the basis of this, the online system of fault diagnosis and visualization for boiler combustion system is developed. This system can be used to diagnose the faults of boiler combustion system and analyze the causes of these faults.
