With the development of architectural technique and its construction, a number of roof structures with new types, large spans, low-rise, low-frequency and high flexibility have been emerged. These roof structures are generally in high turbulent regions, then wind loads become important to these structures. Commonly, wind-induced response is analysed in frequency domain method. But the contributions of those high order models are omitted owe to the complexity of analyse themselves. How to choose proper modes is an boring issue. Two kinds of large span roofs, one is rectangle plane-roof, another is dome-like roof, were investigated with wind tunnel. Mean shape factor and RMS shape factor distributed on the roof of the structure with B exposure are measured. Based on using of a multi-point high-speed pressure scanning system on rigid model, wind-induced dynamic responses are discussed by the method of power spectrum analysis. The contributions to dynamic responses from the modes with low natural frequency are also discussed. The new expression of the mode-acceleration solution is employed to improve evaluations of the wind-induced response for large roof structures in this paper. In this method,The contributions of those high order models were compensated ,and the question of choosing proper modes is avoided.
