The special slot is adopted in the rotor of the induction machine with compound cage rotor and there is two materials of casting aluminum and copper iron alloy in the slot. This results to the induction machine with compound cage rotor to be of good starting performance and working performance that is adjacent to that of the common squrril-cage induction machine. It can be applied broadly in many fields.The solved region, boundary condition and assumption condition of the induction machine with compound cage rotor are supplied in this paper. The Electromagnetic field theory and the Variation method is applied to found the 2D mathematics model during the process of starting of the induction machine with compound cage rotor. The dispersion, element analyse and collectivity composing of time-variation field are given. During the process of numerical calculation of electromagnetic, the stator terminal voltage is set as restriction condition and the starting current is iterated in order to obtain the starting current and starting torque under the rating voltage. Finally, the calculated results and measured results are compared to test that the calculation of starting performance can agree with the need of practical engineering project. At the same time, compare with the common induction, the induction machine with compound cage rotor own the better starting performance. The effect of compound material on starting performance is studied through calculating the starting current and torque when the compound material is of different resistivity and ermeability. It is helpful to select the compound material of copper iron alloy to study the effect. The resistance and leakage inductance of ten slots are calculated according to the calculation result of non-linear electromagnetic field of the induction machine with compound cage rotor. It can be shown that parameters of each slot are different and some is of big difference from other. It can be shown that the calculated starting slot parameters are inaccurate l taking a slot as studied object.
