Ultrasonic testing technique is an important method of NDT (Non-Destructive Testing), and its development is under the direct influence of the development level of ultrasonic instrument. The development tendency of ultrasonic instrument unfolds the traits of numeralization, imaging, miniaturization and real-time performance, etc. In traditional ultrasonic testing system, there exist many disadvantages in PC. It is difficulty to fit the harsh environment for PC, for example, it is not convenient to take in that its volume is not enough small, and data transfer rate is not high and interface is not abundant, etc. The method that replaces PC with embedded computer in order to build high performance, portable, small-sized ultrasonic testing system is put forward.The ultrasonic testing system is composed of embedded computer, digital ultrasonic defect detector, auto-scanning device and RS232->USB converter. This plays a good hardware foundation for the small-sized and intelligent ultrasonic testing system. In order to solve the problem of high speed transfer, the method of replacing traditional RS232 with USB interface is put forward. The thesis 'gives prominence to analysis and research USB host controller in embedded computer, including hardware design, the support of BSP and related driver in Windows CE.To reduce the design complication resulted by DMA interface method, USB host controller is realized by adopting SBI interface of 32bits microprocessor Intel Strong ARM* SA-1110, and this can facilitate debugging. The related files are modified and written in BSP for realizing the support of USB. On the basis of analyzing delamination driver model in Windows CE, realize USB driver according to actual hardware. At period of experiment, the correctness of design is testified by using USB mouse that is belong to HID device class as like RS232->USB converter.
