Recently, passenger ropeway is more and more popular in every large scenic spot of our country. At the same time, technological staffs engaged in ropeway make some great progress in designing. The ropeway's designing parameters and profile are the crux segment of ropeway's erection and installation.In the beginning, this paper introduces the general developing situation of ropeway, classification and the concrete situation in our country. It elaborate several theories, interpret Visual Basic which is a kind of object-oriented language, and summarize the structure and function of the passenger ropeway profile design system. By the Visual Basic, the system provides the audiovisual and convenient situation for input-data, the high and exact output. At the same time, the system may draw the profile. Users can observe the basic shape and suitability of the ground , at result, the output is changed.The system has several design theory that provide the users, elaborate the parameters, and can make users inquire the standards at any time. That will help staff to finish the design. Simple and optimized design process will promote the development of passenger ropeway greatly.The system analogize the four theories' exactness. The Xuanlianxian Theory is known as the best in the world, so we consider it as the standard. From some data, we got the result: Xuansuo Theory is better than the Paowu Theory, which's error is the largest.
