Through test and research of Zipingpu Reservoir Concrete Faced Rockfill Dam's Material and Finite Element Analysis of the Dam, physics and mechanical characteristics were studied ,such as characteristics of rock, compaction, permeability, compressibility and so on, of the no viscous moraine and gravel. At the same time, the mutual relation of physics and mechanical characteristics were studied. The method of vibrating on the surface of the sample was applied to research the largest compacted dry density indoor. Suggest the method of division to measure the largest compacted dry density of dam's material with super large diameter approximately. According to the research of predecessor, suggest applying the effective void ratio or the effective void rate to compute the coefficient of permeability approximately. The influencing element and the equation of the shear strength of the no viscous moraine and gravel, and strain softening, dilatancy ( shrinkage) were analyzed.Look back generally to elaborate the development and presentsituation of the stress-strain model of soil. According to a great deal of data of the test and research of Zipingpu Reservoir Concrete Faced Rockfill Dam's Material, suggest the more reasonable stress-strain-volume change equation to contain strain softening, dilatancy (shrinkage) of the no viscous moraine and gravel. Suggest the method to gain the model's parameter. The model's parameter was applied to gain the theoretical stress-strain-volume change curves and used to compare with the experimental stress-strain-volume change curves to verify the rationality of it. The newly proposed model is applied in the finite element program, the new program was applied in finite element stress-strain analysis of Zipingpu Reservoir Concrete Faced Rockfill Dam, and at the same time compare with the result of the widespread model ( such as E-u model) to test and verify its rationality initially.
