This paper is concerned with the evaluation of the seismic resistant dynamical characteristics of composite foundation .The dynamical finite element numerical analysis is performed for this purpose. Comprehensive analysis has been made to research characteristics of ground motion and ground seismic resistant of composite foundation to promote its application in seismic area.Firstly, a review about research on seismic reaction of ground and seismic dynamical characteristics of composite foundation is given. After carefullyanalysis, calculation and comparison, dynamical finite element method is adoptedto research seismic resistant dynamical characteristics of composite foundation.Five group finite element models of one-dimensional cutting foundation that can reflect different kinds, different improvement schemes and different natural grounds are erected.Secondly, analysis of effect of improvement and different improvement schemes on characteristics of self-vibration, ground motion and ground seismic resistant of foundation is made.Furthermore, characteristics of self-vibration and seismic reaction of different natural ground and improved ground with the same improvement schemes and characteristics of seismic reaction of the same natural and improved ground under different seismic wave are also analyzed.Lastly, characteristics of self-vibration and seismic resistant of three composite foundation with different characteristics of the reinforcement are analyzed to discover the effect of characteristics of the reinforcement.Based on the above analysis result, conclusion about the seismic resistantdynamical characteristics of composite foundation that collectively the improvement of composite foundation is preferable for seismic resist is drawn and the recommendation and perspectives are put forward.
