As the replacement material of cement and concrete, superfine slag powder is widely used for it can be employed to improve the strength of cement and the durability of concrete. The enhancement effect on cement material arises from chemical effect which is predominated by pozzolanic effect and physical effect which is predominated by filling effect.The study tries to divide enhancement effect into chemical effect and physical effect and recurs to inertial material to replace superfine slag powder. The methods of factor of enhancement effect and the strength efficiency offered are applied to explore impact of fineness and content on enhancement effect and the rule of enhancement effect with change of ages. The results are that: the enhancement effect is improved with the increase of fineness and content of slag powder, but the filling effect will be weakened by excessive fineness and content. The impact on the pozzolanic effect by the fineness of superfine slag powder is changed with content. The enhancement effect and its sub-effect of superfine slag powder contribute most on slag cement's 28th strengths, in which the pozzolanic effect is the main factor and is amount to 80%. The enhancement effect of slag powder contributes 30% more to cement system than to concrete system.
