Piezoelectric ceramics is named for its quick response and free shape when used as actuator. However, when the actuator, which is made of piezoelectric ceramics, is bonded on a structure,it may influence some of the specimen's physical parameters, such as elastic modual. So the induced strain field is influenced. And the extent to which the parameters are influenced depends on the size of the actuator. More over,in order to get the best effect, more than one bonded actuators are used, which makes the actuators affect each other. So knowing the distributing law of the strain field and how the strain field changes with the actuator's size is necessary In this text, electronic speckle pattern interferometry is used to test different strain fields produced by bonded actuators with different size. After the fringe is thined, its spine is got. Based on the theory of speckle metrology, the displacement from the fringe is got, at last the strain field and how the strain field changes with the actuator's size is got. This outcome can provide some theory for the optimization of bonded actuator on smart structure.
