The Whole Imagine Creation Of Urban River-Waterfront Space

The thesis tries to study the theory of City Waterfront Creation from the aspects of "General System Theory" and "the Relationship between the man and environment. My major research target is Funanhe which lies in Chengdu. Under the ground of the research, the writer points out the city waterfront is not integrate which is combinated with deferent parts or merely is greenification near to river. It should be a whole one, and it could be studied in the construction and development of the city. The success and the failure of city waterfront design affects not only cityscape but also the sustainable development of urban area. The creation of city waterfront includes with landscape, history, traffic, economic, person feeling and townfolk' s needing etc. I hope to bring a new macroscopic vision to think the creation of city waterfront by my work. And I hope it can bring illumination to the waterfront design and urban design.The thesis is included five parts.The first part deals with the meaning of the writing, and introduces the condition of the city waterfront design & development in the world.The second part comprehensive expounds the references, and inducts the waterfront development aim and its design principle.The third part investigates and studies the present condition of the Funanhe river, and makes introduction and comments on the Funanhe control project in 1992.The fourth part analyses two questiones, the one is simple function and form; another is traffic in the waterfront. At the end of this part, I bring up some suggestion.The fifth part is the conclusion.
